Spirit/Wine + citrus juice + sweetener + hot water
The negus is similar to a mull. The main difference is that it is heated through the addition of hot water instead of heating up the wine. Boil water with sugar, citrus, and spices, and then pour this into a pre-heated mug along with some wine or port.
