I've been on the cocktail scene since the late 1990's when I created the DrinkBoy.com website. Back in those days, the cocktail landscape was a lot different then it is today. The only bitters which were easily available was Angostura, nobody knew was "orange bitters" were, Luxardo cherries were almost impossible to find, if you searched really hard you "might" be able to find a julep strainer, and almost everybody muddled an orange wheel and cherry in their Old Fashioneds.
