It is believed to be of Irish decent, while two other drink types which share far too much similarity are the [[Sling]] from America, and the [[Toddy]] from England.<br /> <br /> Note: since the Toddy, Sling, and Skin should essentially all contain the same &quot;what&#039;s the difference&quot; information, this perhaps should be captured in a separate page so there is just a single source to work from/on.<br /> <br /> Like the Sling and the Toddy, a Skin can be made either hot or cold. Typically, if ordered in cold weather it would be hot, and vice versa.<br /> <br /> ==Base Recipe==<br /> &#039;&#039;&#039;Skin&#039;&#039;&#039;<br /> * 2 ounces Spirit<br /> * 2 tsp Sugar (or Syrup)<br /> * 4 ounces water (hot or cold)<br /> * 1 long strip of lemon peel<br /> Combine the whiskey, sugar, and water in a mug (for hot) or glass (for cold). Squeeze the citrus peel over the drink and then drop it in.</div>
